Lebkuchen Christmas Biscuit Recipe

We wish you a Merry Christmas and would love you to get festive this Christmas with this traditional biscuit recipe. An easy & enjoyable recipe perfect for the whole family to get involved.

Ingredients:

250g plain flour

85g grounded almond

2tsp ground ginger

1tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp bicarbonate of soda

200ml clear honey

1 lemon zested

85g butter

A pinch of grated nutmeg

1tsp baking powder

Ready made icing to decorate.

Method:

1. Preheat the oven at 180C
2. Heat the honey and butter in a pan over a low heat until the butter is melted.
3. Sift the flour into the liquid mixture and add the lemon zest
4. Mix the mixture until a combined dough is formed.
5. Shape the batter into 30 biscuits and lay them out on a baking sheet
6. Bake for 15 mins
7. Once cooled decorate with icing of your choice to make festive patterns.
